April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born on July 4 in 1995. As a seventh-grade student she began taking guitar lessons and piano lessons. It was this that ignited her love to write songs. In April, when she was 12 years old She composed her debut single, Different. The year she turned 14 was when she devoted a great deal of time to creating song concepts and practicing her music. Soon, April began taking trips to NY and LA together with her father in order for them both compose songs. April was the month that she began to write about other issues in Take My Hand for her friends who were dealing with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicidal thoughts. Lockhart is also gaining a growing fan base as a lifestyle blogger as well as a spokesperson for the popular clean beauty company Ilia. Since she was born without a left hand, the woman is a major part of herself. But it's not the entire tale. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on her Instagram account, but she isn't making it the focal point of it. It's a reminder. The message? We each contain multitudes, that our physical and identity bodies aren't what they appear. Lockhart through a video message from Nashville home, says I don't want my physical appearance to define myself. I'm more than my physical self. However, it doesn't affect my everyday life. I continue to do my normal activities and have adjusted to my disability. In addition, I see it a very important aspect of me. Lockhart who is an inspiration for self-acceptance in general and is currently on a lengthy journey to achieve the goal. Still she admits she's gone through phases with her body, at times, feeling insecure to wear particular types of clothes which showed how much of her body. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. And she posts her photos on social media. Self-love for her was an extended trip. However, I believe that's the case with everyone with whatever the source of their anxiety. It's important to be surrounded by individuals who truly know you.
