A baby was strapped to my back while another crawled around in the playpen. I worked 12 hour days over months of sanding, and stripping wallpaper while carrying one kid. Ha! The house was getting closer to finishing, but it was still a long distance away. In order to furnish the house it would take a lot of effort with regards to budget and time. I would also have go to my favorite stores. To stay within my budget I took my kids along to search for hidden treasures at estate sales. Our weekly routine that consisted of spending Friday through Saturday at estate and garage sales, shopping for new and used objects. The rest of the week working on painting and sanding the driveway. My passion for furniture restoration began with a look that was similar to this. After our home was fully decorated, I couldn't stop! There was a spot at the local markets where I would sell my items. Eventually, I had too lots of pieces to keep in the available space. Over 1000 people visited my home in just one weekend to buy everything on the ground floor. Growing Days was founded in my house. When my business grew and so did our small family. Finding the balance was important for me. I wished to balance being a mother and also a successful business owner. Growing Days seemed like the ideal fit. Nora my fourth child was born in 2013. It was a great direction for my company, however, I needed some time off. I took a break from the old furniture in order to spend some quality time with my children. It was exactly what I needed at the time. But after a short time the phone started to ring. The people who called me were needing help with the interior decoration and remodeling. Most of them visited my home in my open houses for furniture. As I went along I added new clients in a series of. But it wasn't long before I had many clients and operated an extremely successful business of home renovation. If you'd told me that my company would become the premise for a DIY Network show, I likely would have thought you were crazy. It's hilarious to look back on the idea.
