Laura Linney is an American actress who is popular for her portrayal of vulnerable but strong characters. In the summer, while working in her father's company, Laura Linney became fascinated with theatre. Then in her time at Brown University she studied acting and also at Juilliard School, after which she began her acting career. She began her Broadway career after her graduation, and then made her television debut the following year. She has appeared on numerous stages, films and television shows since that time. She has been nominated for three Tony Awards, three Academy Awards, five Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), as well as received numerous awards over her professional career. In spite of numerous awards the theatre is still her primary passion and she has continued to appear both on screen and on stage.
