Jenna Fischer's most well-known character was as Pam Beesly from the popular television series The Office. In recognition of her work, she was awarded an Emmy award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and received the award for two SAG Awards.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, however, she grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna saw her mother, Anne, perform in church plays when she was young that instilled a passion of theater and performance.
Fischer was a theatre actress trained in her native country. The Off-Broadway show she starred in was the production Reasons to Be Happy that was directed and written by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. In Steve Martin's most recent play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she went on to perform the record-breaking Old Globe Theatre's world premiere.
The Office star Angela Kinsey's most trusted friend on the real world and Fischer launched her own podcast, the Office Ladies podcast, on Earwolf at the end of October 2019. The podcast soon gained popularity. Every week it ranked within the Top Ten in global downloads, with over 200 million downloaded in the beginning two years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in the month of January in 2021.
The Actor's Life was her first book, which describes the path she traveled from St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood which is where she discovered her calling as a professional actress. The second book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is an autobiography of her most beloved friend and her experience in The Office.
